DELIVERANCE AND THE THREE BAD SOILS OF MATTHEW 13
"In the parable of the soils, Matthew 13, the FIRST soil we see is that of the way side. This represents people that have been beaten down to a hard path from the passage of many footsteps. We'll call them pathway people. Soil that is trodden down becomes compacted and hard and the seeds of DELIVERANCE are quickly eaten up by the birds of prey. The seeds are good; sermons on alcohol, arrested development, rejection, rebellion, and so on. And they have been sown into many lives, but still, the many do nothing with it. They just lie there, and soon are eaten up. In order to not be a pathway person, one first has to stop the things that are trodding down the paths of our lives. Like a no trespassing sign, or fence.

There are several things that harden us against God and DELIVERANCE.

1. Our friends and associates. Do they bring me to God and DELIVERANCE, or away?

2. The literature or TV programs we watch. Do they slowly harden me towards God?

3. The music we listen to continually. Does it arouse your emotions and affections while hardening your spirit?

4. Our private thought life. We are what we think about when alone. Not what we pretend to be in public.

These things, though not always evil or sin, could be tolerated once or twice through the soil. But on a habitual basis they do nothing more than compact our soil, making us unfruitful.

The SECOND unfruitful soil we see is the rocky or stony soil. This type of soil can be cleared and cultivated at enormous cost and infinite care, but usually produces pathetic results because of the stones still buried beneath the surface. Denial, or refusal to deal with them being the main reasons. This type of soil is compared to one in whom hours of (DELIVERANCE) prayer have been poured into, and then they drop out. The plants of DELIVERANCE wither and dry up. Unbelief, stubbornness, and self-centeredness create an enormous sub-surface resistance that blocks any growth of fruit the Holy Spirit is trying to bring.

There are different characteristics of stony soil likened to man. One is a thin layer of good soil overlaying solid bedrock. This represents the deceptive. People that sound and look like they are in DELIVERANCE, but when the seeds of DELIVERANCE are planted they soon wither because there is no place for the roots to grow. These are those with only a superficial or surface experience. Look good, sound good, but deceptive and non fruit producing, having a short life span.

Still, other types of people can be likened to soil made up of mostly gravel, or sand. This soil is void of the water and nutrients necessary to support the life of the new plants. As long as it is artificially pumped with water and nutrients it will support some life. But by itself, it is nothing but desert.

The THIRD non productive soil is one cleared of all the stones, carefully fertilized, cultivated, a seed bed prepared, and planted. It also has a good crop on the way towards harvest. But soon the crop begins to become choked, something else is competing for the water and nutrients needed to support its life. Thorns and thistles allowed to go unchecked smother and stifle the growth of the DELIVERANCE crop planted. The enemy has crept in and sowed tares. The job of hoeing out the weeds has been forsaken.

Usually the farmer ends up plowing this crop under and tries again at a later date to plant it.

JESUS made it clear that the thorns, thistles, and weeds that choke out his choice plants are the cares of the world, and the deceitfulness of riches. These two categories of weeds choke out more DELIVERANCE workers than anything else. The problem lies with trying to fit God, (or DELIVERANCE), into their schedule of life, instead of fitting their life around Him. Seek ye first.. the kingdom of God. That is to say, salvation, healing and DELIVERANCE, and the rest will be added. If you are first a DELIVERANCE worker, and then an employee, God will take care of the cares of the world. I have never regretted putting the Lord first in my life, and then fashioning my life around the work for DELIVERANCE, salvation, and healing.

Soul ties to former ways of life and relationships act as thorns and thistles to many a person. They simply use up time and energy needed to support any real crops. Is what you're currently doing, working? Or could it be what you're involved in is unfruitful? If the church you are attending is likened unto a barren desert, can you become a lush, fruitful garden there? It's possible that an ungodly soul tie is keeping you from becoming fruitful.

God can indeed cultivate us into productive soil. He wants to, tries to, and goes to unbelievable limits with some people to make them a fruitful land. But the majority of the time most recoil from the plowshares of DELIVERANCE and the choice fruit is never produced. Anyone who has devoted their life, time and attention to anything less than what JESUS did, (Salvation, Healing and DELIVERANCE), has indeed missed the mark and purpose for living. Many are attempting to grow crops consisting of wood, hay, and stubble that burn up with time and never change lives for eternity.

I recognize it's hard work clearing the ground, and I appreciate all of you who haven't "left the field." But be not weary in well doing for we will reap in due season if we faint not. I hope this newsletter will be a continual source of encouragement to press on to the mark of the high calling, and to stimulate and cause a little self examination.

Let's give God permission to set his plow deep in our lives, to turn over those hard stones and weeds, and to be made into a fruitful field that will produce for all eternity. Let's not waste our lives on the shallowness of worldly living. The choice is ours. Remember, turning a desert into a fertile producing plain does not occur overnight. But the choice fruit produced is worth all the effort."

ARE YOU GOOD SOIL?

MATTHEW 13:10 - "Then the disciples came to Him (JESUS) and said, Why do You speak to THEM in parables? And He REPLIED TO THEM, TO YOU it has been given to know the secrets and mysteries of the kingdom of Heaven, but to THEM it has not been given. 12) For whoever has {spiritual knowledge], to him will more be given and he will be furnished richly so that he will have abundance; but from him who has not, even what he has will be taken away. 13) This is the reason that I speak to them in parables; because having the power of seeing, they do not see; and having the power of hearing, they do not hear, nor do they grasp and understand. 14) In them indeed is the process of fulfillment of the prophecy of Isaiah, which says: You shall indeed hear and hear but never grasp and understand; and you shall indeed look and look but never see and perceive. 15) For this nation's heart has grown gross (fat and dull), and their ears heavy and difficult of hearing, and their eyes they have tightly closed, lest they see and perceive with their eyes, and hear and comprehend the sense with their ears, and grasp and understand with their heart, and turn and I should heal them [Isa. 6:9, 10.] 16) But blessed (happy, fortunate, and to be envied) are YOUR EYES BECAUSE they do see, and YOUR ears because they do hear. 17) Truly I tell you, many prophets and righteous men [men who were upright and in right standing with God] yearned to see what you see, and did not see it, and to hear what you hear, and did not hear it."

DEMONS - WHAT THEY ARE AND ARE NOT

DEMONS - WHAT ARE THEY? Demons are NOT human. They are invisible evil spirits with various sizes and shapes.

WHERE DID THEY COME FROM?

There are no Scriptures to back anyone's personal opinions or theories.

God did in fact create everything (including Lucifer). Colossians 1:16 "For it was in Him that ALL things were created, in heaven and on earth, things SEEN and things UNSEEN, whether THRONES, DOMINIONS, RULERS, or AUTHORITIES; ALL things were created and exist through Him [by His service, intervention] and in and for Him."

AND

JOHN 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2/The same was in the beginning with God. 3/ ALL THINGS were made by Him; and without Him was not anything made that was made.

We do know that the demons have rankings (like the military). Again in Colossians 1:16 "...things seen and things unseen, whether THRONES - DOMINIONS - RULERS - AUTHORITIES

King James version calls them "VISIBLE and INVISIBLE, whether THRONES - DOMINIONS - PRINCIPALITIES - POWERS

Ephesians 6:12 "For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against PRINCIPALITIES, against POWERS, against the RULERS of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places." KJV

Ephesians 6:12 "For we are not wrestling with flesh and blood [contending only with physical opponents], but against the DESPOTISMS, against the POWERS, against [the master spirits who are] the world RULERS of this present darkness, against the spirit forces of wickedness in the heavenly (supernatural) sphere." AMPLIFIED

The above scriptures destroy any notion that there are NO demons.

DEMONS - WHAT THEY ARE NOT -- If you think the demons are the "fallen angels", this can only be a personal opinion. There are some Scriptures that are not clear (like in the Book of Revelations), so everyone has their own opinion. However, as far as "fallen angels" go, check this out. These two Scriptures are quite clear. There is no room for opinions.

II Peter 2:4 "For God did not [even] spare ANGELS that sinned, but CAST THEM INTO HELL, delivering them to be KEPT THERE in pits of gloom TILL THE JUDGMENT and their doom."

Jude, verse 6 "And ANGELS who did not keep (care for, guard, and hold to) their own first place of power but abandoned their proper dwelling place--THESE He has reserved IN CUSTODY IN ETERNAL CHAINS (bonds) under the thick gloom of utter darkness UNTIL THE JUDGMENT and doom of the great day."


DEMONS - WHAT THEY DO -- Their job is to CONTROL you, to DEFILE you, to HARASS you, to TORMENT you, and to DRIVE you to DO, SAY, THINK, and FEEL things you wish you could eliminate from your life.
